He tries hard

Tonight Ian went and found his pajama shorts in his drawer. He then proceeded to put them on all by himself. When he was finished he stood up and said 'I did it! All by myself!' and Chris and I smiled and said good job. Even though he had both legs in one hole and had put them on upside down (with the elastic at the bottom).

He put in a great effort though.

Little Boy Blue

This is what happens when you leave your child alone for three minutes to stir the skillet in another room.

Anyway, you have to love Crayola. When they say washable, the mean washable!

Last week Chris and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. We bought some Zeitgeist wine (locally made!) and made fish with spinach, broccoli, and crusty french bread. It was quite tasty.

Normally, I leave myself a note as to where I am on a pattern when I stop knitting for the night. That way if I don't get back to the project for a few days can remember where I was. Normally. Except with this heel! Grr. I think I've got it though.

The LM had his first hot fudge sundae today and he, of course, loved it. I'm still surprised that he didn't end up with chocolate all over!

The original plan for this weekend was to buy a crowbar and use it on some logs in the backyard as well as a not-so-useful shelf on the porch. Back issues prevented that, much to my annoyance.

Oh well. At least I got some knitting done.

Soooo, about that knitting blog. Ahem.

Do I ever mention how busy I am?

Right now I am making a Clapotis out of sock yarn. . . and a hat for my son. . . and socks.

Those are just the things I am currently working on. Let us not discuss the things sitting in the knitting basket.

And am I knitting right now? No. I am embroidering. Ha!

Hello Again

Well. We've moved to Mankato, and I'm still trying to find a group to knit with. It seems that coffee shops do not have liquor licenses so..that makes me very sad. I like having the occasional glass of wine with knitting!

I am currently working on finishing up the Monkey Backpack. I'm knitting the gusset, which is the last piece. I'll take a photo when the batteries are charged and post the chart part which I finished last week. I've started a Gameboy cozy, and worked a bit on the Simply Ginny sock as well. This weekend I'm going to the Shepard's Harvest festival in Lake Elmo, MN. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to buying yarn for the Mrs. Darcy sweater.

These are photos from April (I know the date stamp is wrong, bloody camera) at Betty's house, which was the last knitting group for me in La Crosse. We put our Stichin' Bitches Friendship scarves together, had cake, saw Potter puppet pals and much wine. It was a lot of fun!

unraveled

I know that not everyone reads this blog, so I'll repost in livejournal.

I can't knit any more squares. Not for the time being. I've tried, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I need to knit something else for a while. I'm going to try to finish Tina's square, since it is already late. Then there will be a square break. Maybe for a hat or something, just something that isn't a square.

There are of course other things going on, but that is a tale for another journal.
