My neighbor across the street has the most beautiful tulips. I'm sure she has lived in that house for 20 years or more and just put in a few flowers at a time, but I am so impatient. Which means I usually bite off more than I can chew and then nothing gets done.

Maybe just a few flowers this year, not the dream landscaping project in my head.

Chris, Ian, and I went on a bike ride yesterday with the bike trailer that the lovely Heather brought over. Ian loved it! We were worried that he was going to want out after 5 minutes, but he was quite content to sit and enjoy the scenery.

Of course, the super-naughty streak has continued, but we'll get through it. The potty training is going well at daycare. Chris might stay home with Ian this summer and that is an exciting prospect. I wish I could stay home too!

Yesterday was nice. I had to run back and forth to North Mankato for work, but on one of my trips I stopped at the coffee shop and ran into Heather and Caroline. It was great to have a little break and chat.

Tonight I'm not sure what we are up to, but we are really looking forward to the first Farmer's Market on Saturday!

We have finally decided to hit the potty training and be consistent. Today was day 1. Mommy and Daddy: 0 Soiled/Wet underoos: I think we are on pair 5 and. . . it is only 1:30 in the afternoon. I know this really won't take long, but man is it frustrating. He just isn't interested at all! Argh!!

As always, we'll keep at it. At least we have all had a lot less stressful day when Ian was naughty boy supreme.

Took a long, hot bath during quiet time and read a third of my book. (Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window) I've been reading it for months now. It is full of short stories and I try to read them when I need to get centered after a stressful day. Maybe I am just trying to make a good book last as long as possible.

Quiet Afternoon

Yesterday was a nice day. While I was crazy-busy at work, as I always am at this time of year, when I got home it was nice and quiet. Chris and I made supper (grilled tuna, with basil, lemon, and sun dried tomato topping, even Ian couldn't say no to that!) and Ian insisted on watching more Scooby Doo. He would only be interrupted to come and push the plunger down on the press pot. While Chris ran to the store to get basil I took a few photos of the quiet rainy kitchen.

He tries hard

Tonight Ian went and found his pajama shorts in his drawer. He then proceeded to put them on all by himself. When he was finished he stood up and said 'I did it! All by myself!' and Chris and I smiled and said good job. Even though he had both legs in one hole and had put them on upside down (with the elastic at the bottom).

He put in a great effort though.

Little Boy Blue

This is what happens when you leave your child alone for three minutes to stir the skillet in another room.

Anyway, you have to love Crayola. When they say washable, the mean washable!

Last week Chris and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. We bought some Zeitgeist wine (locally made!) and made fish with spinach, broccoli, and crusty french bread. It was quite tasty.
