Absent

I've been absent for school reasons, but now I have returned with four days to devote to knitting. I have turned the heel on the Nagini sock! I've also started a sport weight sock and I am about an inch away from starting the heel on that one. I need to start working on the second of the 'Hurry Up Spring' armwarmers so I can give them as a Yule present. I haven't finished anything lately and I have been coveting many yarns, but I am living up to my vow to not buy any more yarn until after the holidays. Hopefully more later with pictures.

Tribbles

So, I still haven't done anything more with Nagini. I try not to do complicated projects while at home in case of unavoidable distraction. So I've been working on a Tribble. I'm about half finished. It looks like it is supposed to, even though I'm k2tog instead of ssk. Ssk is baffeling the hell out of me (what with knitting backwards and all). I may have to have a demonstration at knitting this week.

Nagini Sock

Nagini Sock

I've just started making a Tribble with some Sugar n' Cream. Hopefully that will be finished shortly; I have 8 inches left to knit.

And now it is time for a nap.

I went to stitch n' bitch last night and had a good time. There was knitting, laughing and pattern flipping. There was also fun Hallow's Eve music playing on the radio. I knitted what seemed to be quite a bit on the Nagini sock. I'm using Lorna's Lace's Shepherd Sock in the colourway Envy which is making the sock actually look like snakeskin; the effect is wonderful.

I'm not sure if I will be going to the Thursday Night Knitting group, I have homework I should be doing instead. I may go for a while and knit and then break off to do the work, but who am I kidding, I'll just keep knitting.

I will try to go out and purchase some decent batteries tonight so I can take pictures for this blog as well as Ravelry.

Simply Knitting

Hello all. I've decided to make a blog dedicated to knitting. My personal life gets so silly and really doesn't need to involve innocent yarn and so I've separated the two. I'm sure the posts shall be few and far between, but I shall try to update with photos. Though not today (as the camera batteries are deceased).

I've been working on some armwarmers. They are green and kind of an orange-red stripe. I based the pattern on the one from the Stitch n' Bitch Nation, but left out the chart and added a few stitches (the others were too tight).

I haven't worked on my Nagini sock in two weeks. I have to figure out which row I am on (I lost track while talking and knitting).

I've also been experimenting on my knitting technique. I knit left-handed. I slip stitches from the right to the left needle. It works fine, except when I knit in the round, my stitches look straight, but the entire piece spirals. I'll post a picture when the afore mentioned batteries are revived. I've been trying to knit into the front loops of the stitches (I've been told I already knit into the back of the stitches). I'm not sure if it works though. I'll have to knit the second armwarmer entirely in the new technique to see if it stops the spiraling. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
