Year 3

Today is Ian's birthday. He was born three years ago this morning. He had a great day according to Daddy. First, he got Lego Army Men and a fuzzy monkey card from Mommy and Daddy. Next, he went to the Coffee Shop with Daddy and got a muffin from Jen. He had his favorite supper for dinner and when asked if he wanted to do have ice cream sundaes he said. . . No. I want to take a purple bath.

Gotta love it.

May the 4th Be With You

At lunch today I got out the spinning wheel and spun while I watched Star Wars. It was a lunch well spent.

I'm trying to decide if I want to get out the wheel and watch The Empire Strikes Back or if I am going to put some photos in an album. Hmmm. I could do both I suppose.

We are reading The Fellowship of the Ring again. Tonight's chapter is The Finding of the One Ring.

Yesterday was May Day and it was an (almost) perfect day to go to the opening of the Mankato Farmer's Market. Almost perfect because it was pretty windy and so Ian went to sit in the car with Grampa after a quick go through. He did enjoy his mini donuts though.

Linda bought some prairie grass and phlox to plant in her yard while I perused some hand-spun from a young woman who spins from her own sheep. I asked if she was going to the Sheep and Wool festival next weekend and she said yes, but unlike the previous year, she was Not going to bring 3 sheep home with her. We also bought some asparagus that we later had on the grill with a leg of lamb while we drank mint juleps and watched the two minutes that is the Kentucky Derby.

Before the Derby (and a wonderful two-hour nap that was well needed by Ian's alter-ego, Super Naughty) we watched the annual motorcycle parade that is put on by the Minnesota chapter of ABATE. When Ian wasn't trying to run into traffic he enjoyed all of the bikes.

This the three of us got up, watched Shrek, read the paper and had donuts. Pretty sweet-filled weekend so far.
