Hello Again
Well. We've moved to Mankato, and I'm still trying to find a group to knit with. It seems that coffee shops do not have liquor licenses so..that makes me very sad. I like having the occasional glass of wine with knitting!
I am currently working on finishing up the Monkey Backpack. I'm knitting the gusset, which is the last piece. I'll take a photo when the batteries are charged and post the chart part which I finished last week. I've started a Gameboy cozy, and worked a bit on the Simply Ginny sock as well. This weekend I'm going to the Shepard's Harvest festival in Lake Elmo, MN. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to buying yarn for the Mrs. Darcy sweater.
These are photos from April (I know the date stamp is wrong, bloody camera) at Betty's house, which was the last knitting group for me in La Crosse. We put our Stichin' Bitches Friendship scarves together, had cake, saw Potter puppet pals and much wine. It was a lot of fun!

unraveled
I can't knit any more squares. Not for the time being. I've tried, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I need to knit something else for a while. I'm going to try to finish Tina's square, since it is already late. Then there will be a square break. Maybe for a hat or something, just something that isn't a square.
There are of course other things going on, but that is a tale for another journal.

Superman

I found the pattern on Ravelry, these are the Twisted Maiden Fingerless Gloves by Anushka Tay http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/twisted-maiden-fingerless-gloves
The pattern is very simple, though I am afraid these may end up being too small for my niece. I'm going to finish one, put it on some scrap yarn and have her try it on before I bind it off and start the second one.
My square for the scarf is coming along, I've started it a few times with a few different yarns and I need to get going if I want to use the one I've decided on.
C's scarf is coming along well, I finished the first chart and have started the second. All in all, the knitting is going well.

A good season
Namaste Bag
Yule time was generous to this knitter. Not only did I get two wonderful new knitting books, 101 Designer One Skein Wonders, and Knitter's Lib, but I also got a gift certificate that allowed me to buy a Namaste knitting bag! And I found a new yarn shop in St. Peter, MN called The Tangled Skein. They had a wonderful selection including SWTC, Rowan and Blue Sky Alpaca!
I have started the Dark Mark Scarf, and it is turning out well. The Nagini Sock is also coming right along, though I probably won't get its mate finished until later this year.
